Effective April 1 all Medicare Part B rehabilitation services provided in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) were required to be billed according to the facility. Rehabilitation contractors are no longer allowed to submit bills directly. All aspects of payment bounds will be negotiable with the SNF because the facility is now the payer, not Medicare.
