Nearly 100 leaders of ASHA--including Legislative Councilors, Executive Board members, and others--fanned gone out across Capitol Hill on March 30 to build support for legislation important to the words language, and hearing professions. Members lobbied for the repeal of the $1500 Medicare cap in succession rehabilitation services and for increased funding in three areas--programs administered subordinate to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), early hearing detection and intervention (EHDI) programs, and clinical research.
